Tony Banks is the founder of Ruby Capital, a private investment firm backing bold ventures and visionary founders. A self-made entrepreneur with a reputation for turning ambition into results, Tony brings a straight-talking, values-driven approach to business — one that’s grounded in lived experience, instinct and a deep understanding of people.
Raised in a working-class community, Tony’s early life instilled in him a strong sense of resilience, purpose and drive. His time in the military including fighting with the Paras in the Falklands War taught him discipline and perspective, which he later applied to business. As well as founding and growing Balhousie Care Group into one of Scotland’s largest private care home providers, Tony used his wealth to help others and appeared in the hit TV show Secret Millionaire.
After exiting the business in 2022, Tony launched Ruby Capital to support the next generation of entrepreneurs with passion, courage and a willingness to challenge convention.

Caroline is COO at Ruby Capital, with a career spanning two decades across IT, property, finance, luxury retail, hospitality, and premium drinks. She has built a reputation for navigating complex investments and advising ultra-high net-worth clients with clarity and precision. Caroline’s breadth of experience and operational acumen bring a steady hand to Ruby’s leadership, complementing its dynamic approach to venture backing.
